ThinkBox operate outside your conventions and established norms. We will challenge your rules and test your systems. This is a good thing, because your organisational systems and established ways of doing things are often the very source of your problems. As Einstein once quipped, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used to create them.” 

2. WE’RE NOT HEROES

The last thing you want is a “hero consultant” from a big firm coming in and “putting things right”, without respecting your organisation’s culture. “Heroes” can barge in to ‘save the day’, zealously ‘fixing’ things within your business, before they even know if it needs fixing. When the dust settles, you’ll be left wondering what happened, and whose victory it was.

ThinkBox plays a supporting role. We always explore your operations first, spending time to really understand your business, and working out what the real issues are. We will then determine a pathway to success, by collaborating with your staff, identifying and disarming potential traps, and helping you own the changes, so that YOU remain the hero.

Once upon a time patience and tradition were seen as being the most desirable traits, with those taking shortcuts, or straying from convention, being frowned upon. In today’s fast moving economy, it’s innovate or die. Sometimes, there isn’t enough time to do things the “right” or traditional way. Sometimes we just need to find the best way, and that shortcut may be hidden in plain sight. ThinkBox provide a fresh external perspective to discover these pearls of innovation.

When you’re trying to develop and implement a new idea, it’s easy for you and your team to become distracted, and not give the concept the attention it deserves. New ideas can quickly lose their lustre if not given the proper environment and support to flourish. ThinkBox will provide that support. Remember, existing systems tend to resist new ideas. Everyone is busy, and there are always fires that need to be put out. ThinkBox will keep you on track, helping you to achieve your objectives faster.

Sometimes there’s a resistant subculture within your organisation that isn’t open to change, choking the life out of any new ideas. Sometimes the people you work with block great ideas, albeit from a misguided perspective, limiting progress.

As external facilitators, ThinkBox bring a level of ‘diplomatic immunity’ to the job. We can highlight issues that would otherwise result in cross functional ‘bad blood’. Once these issues are out in the open, we can rapidly move into a more productive space.

Your business is made of specialists that are experts in their individual areas; just like a football team, everyone has their own role.  We are not experts in your particular business; we are experts in bringing diverse teams of specialists together.  We work with your people’s strengths, helping your team implement new ideas, work together and support each other.

This may make you uncomfortable, but we ask questions; lots of questions, dumb questions, obvious questions, and “why” questions. We want to test your assumptions, and find any gaps or inconsistencies, within your own belief systems, on how things should be done. Many of us don’t realise that, as human beings, we are profoundly adept at getting it our own way.
